new year's eve sydney

Sydney is hard to beat on any day of the year, but on New Year’s Eve she justifies all your social media gloating. Whether you want to see in 2015 with a lavish feast, a view of the fireworks, or just a glass (or two) of champagne in hand, we’ve got you covered.

Decadent Dinners

Gazebo

Get back to Gazebo’s hedonistic ‘60s roots with canapés, a glass of Perrier Jouët, and three decadent courses. This one’s not for vegans. Gazebo, 2 Elizabeth Bay Road, Elizabeth Bay, $120pp, 02 8070 2424 for bookings.

The Greens

Who said New Year’s Eve isn’t kid friendly? The Greens will keep your little ones occupied with kids entertainment until 9.15pm, with DJ spinning you into the wee hours.  Ticket includes a two-course grazing meal. The Greens, 50 Ridge Street, North Sydney, $150pp ($50 kids), tickets online.

The Butler

New Year’s Eve doubles as a housewarming party for Sydney’s newest terrace hot spot. Sip French champagne on arrival, indulge in The Butler’s 7-course banquet, and check out stunning views of the fireworks and city skyline. The Butler, 123 Victoria Street, Potts Point, $200pp, 02 8354 0742 for bookings.

For a View

Exclusive Island lounge at Clark Island

Watch the pyrotechnics in exclusive Island Lounge style. Receive a gourmet food hamper on arrival, sip champagne from the island bar, and cut a rug to live music and DJs. Clark Island, $490pp, tickets online.

Fantasea Cruises

Choose your own adventure from a range of Fantasea cruise packages – each offering spectacular views of the fireworks from multiple angles. Fantasea Cruises, $250 – $400pp, book online.

Pyrmont Park

BYO rug and let Bar Zini’s head chef Damian Krigstein sort your picnic. This ticketed event includes a gourmet rustic Italian hamper package (choose from chicken, vegetarian, or vegan) along with the best views this side of the bridge. And yes, there’s a bar on site. Pyrmont Park, $200pp, book online.

PARTIES

NYE at Bennelong

If it’s straight-up decadence you seek, get to Bennelong. Hand your taste buds over to ARIA Catering, match them (or don’t) with French champagne, fine wines, and cocktails, and get down to the sassy sounds of The Alice Terry Big Band. Bennelong, Sydney Opera House, $695pp, book online.

Dom Perrignon VIO Green Room at Marquee

Will Sparks and Havana Brown will be taking Marquee flying into 2015. But why get your toes tread on when there’s the Dom Perrignon VIP Green Room? Premium canapés and Roof Terrace access accompany the lavish champagne package. Marquee, Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, $800pp, tickets online.

NYE Under Stars

Party alfresco with uninterrupted views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.  This lavish lawn bash includes a premium exclusive food and beverage package to keep your energy up all night long. Tarpeian Precinct Lawn, $395pp, tickets online.
