Queen’s Birthday High Tea at The Terrace

Taking tea on a Monday afternoon doesn’t normally get much fancier than a Starbucks Tazo Chai Latteconsumed at your desk — unless it’s Queen’s Birthday at The Terrace.

Invest a little pomp and circumstance into the affair in the Royal Botanic Gardens, where The Terrace will be serving up an exquisite high tea fit for a queen.

Raise a toast to the AWOL guest of honour with a glass of sparkling before sampling the finest English Breakfast, Earl Grey and herbal teas. And if you still want that Chai Latte, they’ll serve it up in beautiful crockery rather than a disposable paper cup.

The solid refreshments are an equally decadent blend of classic and contemporary. Delicate ribbon sandwiches and fluffy scones share three-tiered stand space with warm savory goats cheese tarts and miniature risotto starters, and assorted sweet treats include chocolate coated strawberries and special Queen’s Birthday cupcakes.

Being a Monday person might be easier than it sounds.
