MBFWA 2013: Alice McCall

What everyone was talking about: The overall collection- Alice McCall has taken her label to new heights with very wearable feminine pieces.

The Collection: Architectural silhouettes are softened through fluid fabrics and washed out tones. Inspired by botanist illustrator Ernst Haekel and intricate Art Nouveau jewels of Rene Jules Lalique, the wonders of the ocean are explored through sheer ruffles resembling water ripples and an oceanic colour palette.

The Look: The focus is on the eyes with blue false lashes. Natasha Severino (M.A.C) conveys a worldly look, “Skin is polished and opalescent; lashes emulate that of aqua-blue coral”. Hair is pulled back in a side part low ponytail.

Addicted to: Soft tones – think seashell pinks and champagne offset with Mexican pink and ultramarine – used in the collection which brings lightness to your wardrobe and an instant freshness.
