When Manfredi Says Pizza, You Say How Many

Manfredi strikes again! But this time the cutlery is plastic and the food comes in cardboard boxes.

Cast away thoughts of finely crafted antipasti and al dente pastas you’ve become custom to from Stefano Manfredi at Balla and think pizza, a buzzer, yelling Italian chefs and drinks in plastic cups.

And with that we welcome Pizzaperta at The Star. Perched underneath Balla, it’s a mostly casual affair with shared counter-style tables and an order-and-pay at the bar system.

The pizzas are where it’s at: imported stone-milled flour, dough that’s left to rise for up to 72 hours, a woodfired oven shipped in from Naples. Need we say more?

Don’t go past the Buffalo Mozzarella Margherita – you’ll be planning your next visit before you swallow the last bite. Or get adventurous with less conventional combos like prawn, zucchini and mint. After all is said and done – and consumed – take on a double caffeine challenge with house-made Tiramisu and an Espresso Martini.

Order a drink, order a pizza, get a buzzer and wait to hear your name yelled from the kitchen. The rest will take care of itself.
