Down the Laneway of Pop-up Designers

Design markets are awesome, right? But they go by so quickly. You were too hungover last time, and your mother-in-law was staying in the spare room the time before that. Before you know it, you’ve missed all the pop-up markets in the last year.

MADE, the newest Pop Up Design Market in Melbourne’s Water Tank Way is here to help you out. It’s hanging around for a full month. Take that mother-in-law.

For one month (it started on the 20th of August), nine local designers are setting up shop in individual, glass-fronted gallery spaces. All in the one spot, the laneway between Spencer and Lonsdale Streets. Each space will be doing its own thing, looking a certain way, and selling completely different things.

The goods you’ll be able to get your hands on range form knitted jewellery, woven art installations, and hand printed leggings from Adventure Pants, to men’s leather accessories, ethically sourced homewares and customisable furniture.

Designers include Luna Gallery, Power to Make, Secret River, Wendy Voon Knits, Adventure Pants, Zsofi Samu, Elenii, and Elk.

We’re thinking you might need a bit of time to visit all nine. You might even want to bring the mother-in-law along, hello brownie points.
