“This is one of my favourite bars! The best spot to sit at is the bar and get there in the afternoon so you can enjoy the sun through the window.
I always order the House Made Seasonal Shrub, it changes all the time but it’s like an alcoholic Kombucha!
All their food is amazing but you can’t go wrong with an all Australian Cheese Board. Book a table upstairs to get even more romantic (and order one of everything haha.)”
Palace cinemas @ Palace Central
“I love everything about film – there’s just something really intimate about a smaller, independent cinema like the ones at Palace. All of their rooms are modern but if you want to feel extra luxurious /spoil your lover, book Palace Platinum, an even smaller room with huge reclining chairs – you’ll basically get the whole cinema to yourself and waiters on call.
Order the ‘mini Choc Top’ platter and a ‘Feature’ size glass of red wine.”
Pasta Emilia – Osteria
“Italian is the ultimate sexy food. I love pasta and the best way to enjoy fresh homemade pasta is at a small table with a cozy candle in a homestyle restaurant like Emilia, with a big glass of wine. The pasta here is organic, and the natural colours are great – beetroot pink ravioli. They source from Australian farmers and suppliers who are committed to regenerative sustainable practices, and you can buy frozen pasta and sauces from the shop there too, so you can bring a bit of the romance home.”

“Want an interesting date night idea? As unromantic as it sounds, grab a bottle of Wizard’s Piss which is a natural red wine that is best served chilled, from natural wine merchants P & V, who have a heap of innovative stuff and are always happy to help with recommendations. Grab some oysters from Sydney Fish Market, get out your easel and paints, and set up your own ‘Paint & Sip’ at home with your partner. The best part? “The Salmon Haul reserve is my pick for a picnic. I grew up in the Sutherland Shire and this little spot is perfect for picnics as it’s further away from the main beach so never too crowded.
Pull up a rug and perch yourself on a rock or the grass nearby and enjoy the views of the ocean.
If you want some great pizza get some from Queen Margherita of Savoy who do traditional Neapolitan pizzas (they’re super-legit, one of only 5 pizzerias in Sydney to be recognised by the the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN).”
