Climb the stairs to London Fields

Paddington’s old gal, The London, just got prettier with the introduction of London Fields – a new wine bar cum restaurant perched on level one of the Underwood stalwart.

Climb up the wooden staircase to find a dazzling ‘L’ in lights (#instaphoto moment), exposed brick walls and industrial chic seating. Assume a corner pose for maximum people watching and take your time perusing the wall-hung menu of food and liquor.

Start with a tipple of red or sip on ‘Prince Harry’ cocktail to kick things off. Move swiftly to the food menu – courtesy of Ian Oakes former Executive Chef at hatted The Grand National – and start with olives and rosemary crosini to whet the appetite. Designed for sharing, don’t pass on dishes like seared tuna with beetroot, chickpeas and goat’s curd; roast spatchcock with prosciutto, sage and soft polenta; and slow cooked pork belly with roast cabbage, pear and cider jus.

Pay a visit to Paddo’s darling, she’s looking better than ever.
