What happens when you combine a Southern American menu, nose to tail dining, and a big name chef? Mr Big Stuff is what happens.
Found at 16 Meyers Place, Mr Big Stuff is being led by former Grossi Florentino chef, Louis Naepels. He’s bringing his own spin on the fried cuisine and it’s working well.
The fit-out, done by Techne Architects and Can I Play is a nod to hip hop, rhythm and blues with a touch of African-American culture throughout. The 53 seater offers up warm cosy colourings of reds, yellows, and oranges.
Peruse the menu for Southern favourites like fried chicken and waffles and of course mac and cheese. Other items to tempt include Ox Tail sliders, tongue and cheek, corn bread, and Jerk chicken wings. Finish with some warm apple pie, because why wouldn’t you?
When it comes to the drinkables, there’s a whole cold pressed Kool-Aid menu including the Wicked Watermelon of Ketel One Vodka, cold pressed watermelon, fresh lemon juice, and soda, or you can opt for the cold brew iced tea menu. A long Island Ice Tea would be a solid choice.
The ‘good for the soul’ vibe, mixed with the friendly staff here goes a long way. So do the DJs spinning tunes. Welcome Mr Big.
