The shoes you can *almost* sleep in
Real talk. We know there’s not a lot of chances to put your feet up. Thankfully we’ve found the heels that are so comfy you won’t need to. Luminous Assembly’s unicorn shoes sit in that rare sweet spot of style without sacrificing comfort. Designed by corporate gal Lili Thomas from her garage, the range includes mules, ankle boots, strappy sandals and yes, even pointed toe pumps. Comfort is built in through adjustable straps, arch support and sneakily hidden platforms that give you height without the heartache (or should we say foot ache). We’ve been flouncing around in our nude Ella mid heel pumps. No blisters, bumps or aching toes, thanks to memory foam insoles and the detachable ankle strap. We’ve also got our eyes on a pair of silver ankle boots for winter. From $239, https://www.luminousassembly.com.au
Making bed making easy
Making the bed. One of our least favourite chores. So let’s make it easier. It-Fits sheets are 100% Australian knitted cotton jersey. That means they’re soft, like baby kitten soft. Even better, they’re clearly designed by a real person, who like the rest of us, has made the bed and been annoyed by it. Kathrin Bickel is the brain behind the bedsheets, she’s delivering not just ultra soft sheets that feel so good they could trick you into thinking you’re in a five star hotel. She’s patented ‘Magic Corners’ – colour coded loops that make corners easy, but also, hallelujah, mean you’re never pondering which way is the top ever again. It-Fits are new to us, but when our buttery-soft Dune coloured sheet set arrived, we wondered what rock we’d been living under. Apparently the caravan community and anyone with bunk beds or adjustable mattresses are already all over this, as the cutline pattern and elastic hem works a treat on all types of mattresses. RRP $199 for double sheet sets. https://www.it-fits.com.au/
Taking your table setting up a notch
We’ve fallen in love not just with these gorgeous small batch table cloths, but with the couple behind their story. Matt and Erin are putting their all into this beautiful brand inspired by the joy of gathering people around a table and feeding them. Each tablecloth from Yousi is a work of art, literally, with their very first collection The Australian Summer designed by Australian and Australian-Brazilian artists. The designs are certainly not shrinking violets. They’re bright and bold, bringing to life the BBQ, seafood feasts and lazy afternoons we grew up with. Even better, they’re 70% cotton and 30% linen, and designed for real parties and real food. RRP $295 https://www.yousi.com.au
Start a Champagne ritual
Decadent? Yes. Fabulous? Yes. Like lighting the good candles, we are taking a leaf out of Australian champagne expert Sally Hillman’s book, literally, and making it a goal to bring the beauty of bubbles into our lives much more often. Sally’s book ‘Celebrating Champagne: A Wine For All Seasons” is like a cheat sheet to elevating your lifestyle. Not in the way you might think. This tome takes us to the Champagne region in France, mapping the topography and towns, and telling the stories of smaller grower-producer champagnes. She also shares recipes for dishes to complement your champagne. Think cheese soufflé paired with an Extra Brut Blanc de Blanc, or a hazelnut torte with a champagne rosé. An afternoon flicking through the pages, and we’re just a dinner party away from transforming into Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. RRP $80 https://sallyhillman.com.au/
Stay hydrated, in style
Is there anything more bougie than a brand new drink bottle? Ok yes, but this is practical self-care at its best. Steph Pase’s pretty pink pastel insulated drink bottles are just what an underwatered mum needs. The 750ml bottles do come in beige, grey and sage too, but our hearts are with this cute blush. Double-walled insulation means if you forget about your water (guilty) it will still be cold 12-24 hrs later. They’re also BPA chemical and metallic toxin free. We know Steph Pase is on a mission to make mum-life simple, with her range of very comprehensive planners and calendars, and she’s taken the same approach here. Yes, it will fit in your cup holder, and yes it is designed not to leave condensation in your handbag. You’re welcome. RRP $39.95 https://www.stephpaseplanners.com.au
For the mum who loves to create, record family memories and follow her passions – Belkin Creator Kit
If mum’s desk doubles as her creative hub (Zoom calls, family shoots, edits of family videos etc), Creator Kit from Belkin is a seriously smart bit of kit that punches above its size. What I love is how considered the tech is: a 360° magnetic phone attachment makes hands-free recording effortless in the same way we loved their Stage Power Grip. This is s step up with flexible angle adjustment so you’re not endlessly propping your phone against books. The real standout is the audio, two wearable mics delivering pro-quality 24-bit/48kHz sound with built-in noise reduction, plus fast USB-C pairing that just works. Add up to 36 hours of battery life via the charging case, and it’s genuinely built for real life, not just quick clips. I found it incredibly easy to use and, for the price, genuinely great value. That said, the mics were a little fiddly to attach at first, but once set up, everything runs seamlessly. Lightweight, compact and easy to throw in a bag, it turns any corner of the house into a polished content setup in minutes. For mums who want to record family moments or follow their creator dreams. We loved using this one. Shop here. $199
Sleep and Listen – LASER Sleep Mask with Bluetooth 5.3 Headphones
I didn’t expect to fall this hard for a sleep mask, but here we are. The LASER Sleep Mask has become my secret weapon for both travel and those “please let me sleep” nights at home as it has audio built in. What a smart invention! It’s ridiculously comfy, with plush 3D memory foam that doesn’t squash my eyes, and I’ve been using it in bed with Peloton meditation classes and Spotify audiobooks to drift off like a dream. If your room insists on being bright at sunrise, this fixes that instantly. On a 6am flight to Melbourne (yep, ouch!), I popped it on, paired my phone in seconds, and blissfully checked out with sound up and down on the bridge of my nose. With up to 10 hours of battery and easy USB-C charging, it’s an under-$35 little luxury mum will love.
Where have I put my… ???? The Laser Smart Card
For the mum who somehow misplaces everything five minutes before leaving the house, meet her new secret weapon. The LASER Smart Card slips into your wallet like a credit card but works like a personal finder, syncing with Apple Find My so you can track down your essentials in seconds. I’ve been road-testing it in my handbag, and it’s a quiet little hero, especially when travelling or mid morning chaos. With real-time tracking, sound alerts, and a rechargeable battery that lasts up to four months (yes, really), it’s one of those clever gifts that delivers instant peace of mind. $24.99 Shop here.
The Bottle That Replaces the Bouquet – Côte des Roses
Ooh, it’s so pretty the bottle alone makes me want to pour a glass. I found Cote des Roses to be a delicate rosé with fresh red berry, citrus and soft floral notes, bringing all the charm and South of France sass I want in a summer wine. I love that it is light, fresh and very easy to drink, with just the right balance of fruit and crisp acidity. From celebrated winemaker Gérard Bertrand, it’s as lovely to look at as it is to sip, with that signature rose-shaped base giving it real shelf appeal. I used my bottle as a flower vase for a single white rose! At $23.95, available now at Dan Murphy’s.
Turn any space into a luxury ork zone – Twelve South DeskPad
I didn’t think a desk accessory could feel like a proper upgrade until I met the Twelve South DeskPad from Twelve South. We road-tested it on the dining table (arguably the ultimate multitasker in any home), and it genuinely transforms the space into a proper workstation in seconds. The soft vegan leather not only feels beautifully tactile but creates a defined, clutter-free zone that somehow makes everything more efficient. It’s just as effective in a home office, adding a layer of polish while protecting surfaces from daily wear. I really loved how there is no need for a mouse mat and how soft it was on my wrists. For mums juggling work, life, and everything in between, it’s a stylish, AUD $39.99
