The Star Turns it On

Sometimes the most exciting things about hotel lobbies are water features and complimentary candy, but not at The Darling.

This Friday, the pride of The Star’s $860 million refurbishment will be bringing in the turntables, and throwing a one-off five-star bash in the hotel lobby.

Think of a feast for the ears as well as the eyes, courtesy of actor-turned-DJ Alex Dimitriades. The former Heartbreak Kid will be headlining the music from 6pm, accompanied by a string of other talented DJ’s and singers, including Zoe Badwi.  Aside from Alex, there will be other tasty dishes to sample, in the form of delicious canapés from The Star’s new flagship restaurants.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Stop in at the Fashion Event to rub well-clad shoulders with discount Bottega Veneta and Salvatore Ferragamo in between sampling sweet creations from Gelato Messina. And when 10pm rolls around, head up to Rock Lily to let your hair down with local indie-rock outfit British India.

There’s even a sports party at 24/7 Bar where you can leave the boyfriend to mingle with sports stars of past and present. Now that’s hospitality.
