A pretty, garden tea party serving cupcakes laced with alcohol? You must be at Genevieve Er’s place.
Only last year, Sydney-based Genevieve launched her ‘This is Genevieve’ fashion label with a delicious Tea Party Spring Summer 08 collection.
Bright corals, deep greens and cobalt feature alongside staples like black, white and denim. Trend-setting boutiques seem to like her modern cuts, signature industrial prints on luxurious silks and cottons, and quickly snapped up her debut collection. We argued that maybe they just heard about the cupcakes, but upon setting eyes on her baby doll dress with divine sleeve detailing, a crochet neckline and hem, agreed definitively that it’s about this passionate, intelligent woman and her covetable designs.
You can also find novel jewellery in Genevieve’s label, having collaborated with designer Peter Zuttion on her intoxicating “vodka” and “champagne” sterling silver necklaces. The next installation will be in stores in March and when you’re likely to fall in love with Genevieve’s favourite piece, ‘best bird’; an ode to her best friend made of a little silver bird perched on a hand carved wooden branch.
