Take your social game up a level at the Rooftop at The Sussex Hotel

The Sussex Hotel is an institution and the revamped Rooftop is a must do city-scape offering a casual dining experience with a variety of small plates and shareable options – high above the hustle and bustle. Perfect for enjoying with friends and family.

The menu features a delightful mix of Mediterranean and Australian influences, with something to please every palate.

Mezze for Sharing

Start by indulging in a selection of mezze small plates. From marinated olives and dips with flatbread to crispy cauliflower bites and falafel, these are satiating and perfect to pair with your favourite bevvie. The share platter ($38) was a standout with includes sopressa salami, serrano, olives, hummus, cod fritters, falafel, pickles and flatbread – which would suit up to four people.

The crispy squid ($21) and spiced chicken wings ($20) were perfectly cooked and flavourful, while the salted cod fritters ($20) offer a unique (for Sydney) option and are a hark to the wonders of Spanish Tapas.

Mains and More

For something more substantial, there are large plates, kebabs and salads. The kebab selection has strong game! The sirloin ($31) with salad and flatbread is substantial for one and if you’re having Mezze it can be shared.

The salads are large and without the meat additions can be vegetarian and are gluten free.

The Rooftop at The Sussex Hotel is perfect for a casual catch up, post work drinks or even a party – it feels so secluded in the heart of it all. There is dedicated rooftop bar service, meaning you don’t have to walk far, or carry drinks up endless stairs. There is a great selection of beers – a mix between craft and standard international, great wines and cocktails. Overall this rooftop is by far one of the most superior in this city – a casual oasis with delicious bites.
