Red Bull Beat Suite

The Red Bull Beat Suite is that intersection where musical mash-up meets Melbourne Recital Centre. Maybe you’ve never been there. It’s usually such a sedate place – think the strains of classical concertos swelling into soaring spaces as the classily clad tap their well-heeled toes to the beat of the timpani.

But come this Saturday the Red Bull Beat Suite is putting a serious spin on things. US soul singer and hip hop luminary Aloe Blacc has been cordially invited to dispense with any tea-drinking niceties and replace them with the nation’s best beat makers and the Australian Youth Orchestra to create an entirely original musical exploration through 20-plus years of super sounds.

Tamil Rogeon will be jabbing at the air with all the crazy energy of a composer/conductor extraordinaire and Melbourne’s own and world renown ENESS will create a never before seen interactive visual display.

Expect the ultimate mash up of classical orchestra, turntables and live beats.
