Artists have long been exploited by a special breed of accountants – in some parts of town, better known as art dealers. So where can a creative soul go if they want to sell their wares but keep their shirt? Start with Studio Dome, the inner-west’s newest artspace-meets-retail store.

Walk into the shop where everything is made by hand. The artworks displayed are held on consignment and range from oil paintings by Sulman Prize winnerSandro Nocentini (who co-owns the store with interior design partner James), illustrations by Amanda Upton, and everything in between. From delicate hand painted ceramics to bold soft furnishings, handmade bags, jewellery and satirical sculptures such asPeter Baka’s dogs.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, but we suggest you start looking here.
