Place Holder

Some places are here for the long haul, and some are just here for a good time, not a long time. Place Holder on Smith Street is the latter.

Neometro’s Number Nine Smith Street gallery – Slopes which is run by Utopian Slumps‘s Melissa Loughnan, is the lucky spot that will house this new café.  The café plus 3000acres urban garden will only be able to operate for 12 months before developers take over the reigns.

Sam King and Sonam Sherpa (ex Top Paddock), built and designed the space which they now serve up Seven Seeds coffee in. Working together for years, these gents know how to make a great coffee. The menu is small, think Bircher muesli and rotating baguettes, but it is topped off with cakes and treats from Tomboy and Top Paddock.

Place Holder is housing three of our favourite things: art, coffee and a garden. We’re almost sad already that it’s temporary.
