La Croix, Je TAime

Potts Point’s Rex building just a got a tad more la-de-da with the opening of La Croix – a new café/homewares fusion where absolutely everything from the antique cutlery to the bathroom handwash is French.

A mix of good café food and hand-curated European homewares, La Croix (French for The Cross) serves up a great breaky with a decent side of people watching – thanks to its Macleay Street/Fitzroy Gardens frontages.

Lunch is an ode to the tartine (open faced sandwich) with more than twelve to choose from on the uncomplicated French menu. Think smoked ocean trout, house-cured salmon, tuna, prawns, confit duck, white anchovies, legumes, broad beans – all while you sip on the French-only wine list.

And the homewares, well, imagine French opulence at its best. Marble tabletops, antique mirrors, luxe dinnerware, French glassware, candelabras and the Pièce de résistance; a grand 18th century chandelier that you can sit and dine under.

La Croix, Je T’Aime. You will too.
