So what does this mean for Taxi lovers? Executive Chef Tony Twitchett is still behind the pans and assures us the food is still top notch. Things are just a little more relaxed, with a menu that nods to Europe rather than Asia, and can be enjoyed all day long. Think Gnocchi with braised lamb, peas and Persian feta, or toasted brioche with goats curd and black pudding.
The wine list has been trimmed back to reveal a 100 long list focusing on Australian wines, with international tastes looked after as well. The space, which still holds its killer views and large spacious atmosphere, has been re-jigged by designer team Eades&Bergman (Meatball & Wine Bar, Bomba Bar, and Mr Miyagi).
In today’s hospitality world where times are shifting and people are looking for quality and a spot on offering, we’re not surprised by this shift. We are hoping that the venue will hold that air of something special about it though. A space like that just deserves it.
