You Had us at Boozy Shakes, Grand Trailer Park

Sometimes all you want is a good burger and an alcoholic milkshake, right? It can’t be just us. The Grand Trailer Park Taverna has answered our calls. Well Josh Lefers (Pawn & Co) and Dani Zeini (Dandenong Pavilion) have, to be exact.

The first thing you’ll notice about the space on Bourke Street in the city is the fit out. It’s literally a bunch of Winnebagos and Airstream caravans mashed together to make a restaurant. The result? Cool booths that look like a trailer park where you can enjoy said burgers and shakes. It feels like you’re inside while being outside. It’s different and we like that.

Zeini is responsible for the food. And boy is he is serious about his burgers. With eight on the menu you’re bound to try something you haven’t before. You can start simple with the KSA – premium Aussie beef pattie, cheddar cheese, tomato, butter lettuce, special sauce, and mustard, on a toasted brioche bun or the Chunk – Double Double: double meat, double cheese, caramelised onions, jalapenos, gherkins, mustard, and tomato sauce, on a brioche bun. For something hearty go for the Francis Underwood, Aussie beef pattie, cheddar cheese, tomato, butter lettuce, special sauce, a potato mac and cheese croquette, and mustard on a brioche bun. Hello food coma.

The Francis Underwood Burger

While you could wash these all down with a Kentucky Mint Tulip, a Mai Tai, or even a Little Creatures Pale Ale, we think it would be better to opt for the Makers Mark Bourbon, salted caramel, and maple bacon shake, or the Kinder Surprise, Frangelico, and Baileys shake. We know there’s no need to convince you further. How could you not?

Open 11:30am until late Tuesday to Saturday, we’re seriously considering weekday lunches involving all of the above.
