Gee free

Gluten-free eating
Intolerance is never fun, especially when it comes to gluten. It lurks in sauces, it malingers in beverages and it shows up in everything from potato chips to energy drinks.

Whether you suffer from Coeliac disease or you’re simply off the wheat, there are havens for your kind; special places where you don’t have to scrutinise the menu or fear for your life.

Entree: So you’re gluten-free now. Does that also mean you should have to spend the GDP of a small African nation on a bag of groceries? No. For all your reasonably priced gluten-free needs, head to Supabarn at Five Dock.

Mains: Surry Hills has just welcomed Wafu to its eat streets. A Japanese menu complimented by a macrobiotic approach means that every bite is gluten-free, jam-packed with nutrients and guaranteed to make your body love you.

Dessert: 17 years ago, a Chef named Rachel Grisewood created a blissful state called Manna from Heaven. This enlightened patisserie makes gluten-free goodies, baking everything from the highly addictive lemon polenta cakes to the ginger and cardamom shortbread. One thing is for sure; it’s all divine.
