From Paris With Love

It takes a lot of work to achieve that certain Parisian je ne sais quoi (hands up if you’ve ever spent longer than 30 minutes trying to make it look like you’ve just rolled out of bed).

But with the right haircut it’s a little easier. And, despite popular belief, the French don’t all carry a gene making them immune to bad hair days.

What they can boast about is Dessange Paris, the holy grail of holistic hair services (and an essential reference of French-style luxury) that’s just moved into a sleek new crib on the Paddington side of Oxford Street. Shiny chrome? Soft champagne floors? Art gallery white walls? Check, check, check.

Dessange has been contributing to the aforementioned gene myth since 1954, but this baby boomer is still way ahead of the curve when it comes to colour trends. If you thought freehand highlights had ceased their reign, think again. Dessange’s California Balayage is legendary, and ‘Techno Balayage’ is a slight misnomer giving short-locked ladies the same “back from the holidays” look.

Parisian insouciance requires a little effort, but we won’t tell if you don’t.
