Warning: Googling pictures of ‘seed pods’ is a rather mesmerising way to whittle away your time.
But even if you’re not shamelessly addicted to plant porn, you’ll find plenty to love about the new collection blossoming in the studio of Dinosaur Designs.
Resin masters Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy have looked to the form and function of seed pods for their latest jewellery range, a collaboration with their writer and photographer friends. And both couples’ adorable daughters — as evidenced in the accompanying campaign.
Take an unconscious botany lesson via 46 jewellery pieces (and 12 home ones), from a delicate ‘Vanilla Pod’ brass pendant to the robust brass ‘Sprout’ pendant – inspired by the moment the seed is about to sprout.
New techniques include incorporating faceted stones such as AAA Cub Zirconia, and embedding brass into resin for the ‘Seed Pod’ chokers.
All in all, it’s bound to make scrolling through Dinosaur Designs’ Instagram a far too engrossing experience.
