Cabinet of wonders

Cabinet Magazine’s first Australian event
A vivid sense of curiosity makes things wondrous, allows connection or some form of growth.  It can just as easily cause strife and the occasional face slap.

Black and Blue Gallery won’t hurt you this Saturday night but it will open up a world of art, not-art and culture in the form of the Australian launch of Cabinet Magazine. Harking from the USA, it’s no accident that Cabinet creaks open its peculiar covers on American Independence Day.

Celebrating Ampersand Magazine’s ANZAC distributorship of this highly awarded digest, the Redfern gallery will host Presentations of the Curious. Puzzlingly titled performances include Eden Falk recounts how Werner Herzog ate his shoe, Cecily Hardy rubs out a family member and Charlie Garber needs one of these like a Hole in the Head, all of which will be underscored with music from local act, They Live.
