Lest you swoon, take a seat as we share the news every bride-to-be has been dreaming of. Vera Wang has opened its first boutique in Australia, a haven of her complete Bridal range at the InterContinental Sydney.

Occupying 140 square meters in the heritage site, the store follows the tradition established when Vera Wang opened her first salon in New York’s Carlyle Hotel.

Enter the arched colonnade and be greeted with luxurious yet minimalist décor, sleek grey concrete floor, charcoal walls and blackened steel accents.

The romance is left to the bridal dresses; elegant rows of Vera’s ethereal signature bridal gowns. The Spring/Summer 2012 Bridal Collection represents an ode to the Paris Opera, with inspiration taken from the works of French artist Edgar Degas and his depiction of young dancers floating about the stage. Key pieces from the collection include an elegant strapless natural-waist ballerina ballgown with veiled layers of dégradé floral laser-cut organza and detachable trapunto-stitched bustier, and a graceful strapless sweetheart soft mermaid gown with draped bodice of sunburst pleating and cascading fan back train.

You’ll find accessories from footwear to corsages, as well as fragrance and highlights from the designer’s Wedgwood home collection.

The Vera Wang bridal service is by appointment only and is the first time that Australian brides have had the opportunity to experience the complete Vera Wang range. Another highlight for Australian brides will be the twice yearly Vera Wang Trunk Shows, to be held in the boutique each May and November.
