The folk at The Keystone Group (Winery, Gazebo, The Loft) have been busy little bees of late recently opening three new venues in as many months. First came Newtown Hotel and its epic makeover, then Sweethearts in the Cross, and now we have The Rook – set to be the CBDs newest who’s who stomping ground.
Accessed only by an elevator off York Street, The Rook delivers New York rooftop grit-glam to ol’ Sydney town. Think late night restaurant meets cool watering hole scattered with graffiti and street art, hanging lights, exposed timber and brick, and a good dose of Brooklyn ‘tude.
With half a menu dedicated to lobster, they certainly have our attention. It’s simple – choose from grilled lobster three ways, a burger three ways and a solid cocktail list. Who could ask for anything more, right? Don’t answer before perusing the knockout dessert list which includes a sinfully good (potentially artery-clogging) deep fried mars bar with rum and raisin ice cream.
Get yourself to York Street and don’t forget to look up!
