The Inner West’s new guilt free burger joint

4OuncesWhen a burger joint takes over from a health food café, the locals find it kind of funny. When those locals head in for a reccie and find out there’s a lot more going on that just a humble chippie joint, they can’t believe their luck.

4 Ounces Burger Co. has moved into the old Henleys Wholefoods spot on a quiet corner of Alexandria’s Mitchell Street and the locals are already lining up out the door. Inner Westies love their almond milk smoothies as much as the rest of health-conscious Sydney, but they also love a good, juicy burger. Especially when that burger has been sustainably sourced from fresh, local ingredients – 80% of 4 Ounces produce comes from within 300km of Alexandria.

The Bread and Butter Project, ethical butcher Feather and Bone, Westmont pickles, Diemen’s hot sauces and OzHarvest are all on board to help make your burger experience guilt free. Well, almost. We make no promises if you go for The Ol’ Dirty, a double decker burger with doughnuts instead of buns. Yep. It’s not for the faint-hearted.

If you prefer your sweet and savoury separate, try one of the rice other burgers, name after R&B and Hip Hop music. The Common, a classic burger with American cheese, pickles and mustard, really hits the spot, or there’s The Ghostface, The Cheezy Yeezy and The Big Poppa to get your taste buds pumping.

Keep an eye out for doughnut soft serve gelato sandwiches, expanded outdoor tables, a picnic area and the liquor license with local spirits, wines and craft beer that will just make this neighbourhood burger joint even better.
