The DA Father’s Day Gift Guide

It’s not too late! You’ve still got a few days left to snap up some serious goodies for your dad this Father’s Day. Here’s the Daily Addict guide for all sorts of dads out there:

The Bondi Boy

Is your dad a Bondi guy at heart? Are you married to a man who loves spending some time down at the beach? Give him the gift that keeps on giving – a year’s social membership to Bondi Icebergs Club. It will only set you back $50 per year ($25 if you’re an eligible local) and gives the recipient access to the club for themselves and 6 guests at a time, discounts on food and drinks, plus member only offers. If your dad is a serious Iceberg fan, take things up a notch with a Gold membership – $535 for unlimited pool and sauna access.

The Whiskey connoisseur

Give your dad the gift the taste of the Pacific Northwest, with a bottle of top notch American single malt whiskey. Relatively new to Australia’s best bottle shops and esteemed watering holes (think Baxter Inn, Archie Rose and Grain Bar), Westward Whiskey has taken the world by storm. Now the largest independent distiller of American single malt whiskey, the team knows their stuff – with a robust, fruity aroma, notes of brown sugar and a dark chocolate, leather and lingering oak finish, this is a winner for Whiskey lovers.

The Boss

Ok this one is for all Kanye lovers. DIIO, the brand new ‘online gifting platform’ is basically a hamper lover’s dream. Cool hampers though, none of the naff stuff where you’d throw half of it away. Alongside some very cool ‘curated’ gift sets for dad (think ‘Day on the Green’ for golfers or ‘Jetsetters’ for high flyers’), you can hop on and build your very own gift pack. Candle optional, we say essential. Kanye candles from $50.

The Beer lover

Got a man who takes great pleasure in the craft of beer? The pub just won’t do on Father’s Day. Take him straight to the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour to see the Beer Butler. On Saturday night and Sunday lunch at Atelier, the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, the Beer Butler will be serving up $5 craft brews and beer tasting paddles of local Sydney bevvies. Beer. Check. Steak. Check. Pair the beer with a cut from Victor Churchill, Woollahra’s favourite butcher.

The Accessories man

So, you’re not allowed to give your dad socks under any circumstances – unless they’re from Peggy & Finn. Victorian-based buddies (we should say Torquay to be exact) Jarrod Craven and Olly Parsons created Peggy & Finn to give men more than just your standard accessories. You won’t find stripes or spots here. Oh no, these pieces are each a work of art – featuring native waratahs, banksias and proteas, their socks, bow ties and pocket squares will seriously skyrocket someone’s style. There’s even suspenders and jocks if you want to complete the whole look.

The Wine snob

You know who they are. They know who they are. Wine lovers are a special breed, so keep your one happy with a serious ‘Father’s Day Kit’ pack from VinoMofo. Whiskey, a Margaret River Cab Sav and a Barossa Valley Shiraz make this a powerful trio that will set you back $119.
