New flagship store opens
Isn’t it great when a shopping area creates clusters with the shopper in mind? Like the Victoria market for fruit & veg, Chadstone for luxury shopping, Melbourne Central for street and urban, and Bourke Street for flagship stores?
With that in mind, we’ve noticed Melbourne’s GPO has recruited some unique, diverse designers into their fold of late, with Acne, Willow, Alpha 60 and limedrop to name a few. As a proud supporter of Australian designers, it’s no surprise to see emerging knitwear brand Twitchett & Tonge have joined their stable.
Featuring their latest Winter collection of good quality but fashion savvy knitwear the Twitchett & Tonge aesthetic is all about innovative jacquard graphics and prints that push the boundaries of conventional knitwear design.
Claire Tonge and Olivia Twitchett launched the label 4 years ago after meeting whilst studying Fashion at RMIT and say “It’s definitely exciting to be positioned alongside so many other household labels and brands. Also, the consumers who shop at GPO are conscientious of Australian design and appreciate tactile qualities and workmanship”.
To compliment the collection they’re also stocking their own scarves and belts with labels Cynch offering belts and Tribu offering leather bags and gloves to complete the look.
