Chances are you don’t really need an excuse to go snooping around in the penthouse suite of the new Pacific Bondi Beach apartments. But here’s a really good one anyway.
This weekend Bill Tikos of slick culture blog The Cool Hunter — the one that’s let you peruse the interiors of so many other magnificent buildings around the world — will be tastefully stuffing the airy pad with covetable wares spanning the worlds of fashion, music, design and entertainment.
Step out of the hallway and into a tangible rendition of his kaleidoscopic virtual world. Tikos’ taste leans towards the enduring rather than following trends or fads, but the way things laid out makes minimalism look like a disease.
Inventive pieces of Zuster furniture rest on patterned Loom Rugs that lie under giant neon cubes and trippy bunches of colourful lanterns, and leggy mannequins sporting chrome headphones walk porcelain French Bulldogs over the shiny floor. Designers are predominantly homegrown, but there’s no shortage of complementary European flavours.
And what’s cool; everything is for sale, from the drinking cups to the penthouse suite itself.
