If your attention span is now used to status updates, or you tend to yawn and become bored easily, we’d like to introduce you to Flickerfest.
It’s clever name suggests two things; 1. We get to see multiple short films in succession and 2. Even they’ve realised saying the word “festival” could be shortened (get to the point)!
Now, in its 20th year, (apparently we were time poor and bored back in 1991 as well) this small local festival held at Balmain High School has become “the festival du jour” for any short film worth its movie weight.
The national tour of flickerfest means Sydney doesn’t get all the “good stuff” and instead shares its short film love around regional and metropolitan areas all across Australia.
After stopping in Narrabri, Adelaide and Dungog, Melbourne will be privy to their delights on February 17 at the Kino Cinemas with 2 extra special sessions with the Best of Melbourne Shorts which features talented film making from our own creative city.
Even if you’re “too busy”, you’ll find you can squeeze in a short Flickerfest film.
