Life’s too short to drink bad wine
We’ve all got one, tucked away for that ‘super special’ occasion. You know that fabulous bottle of wine; the one you received for your birthday, engagement, when you visited that amazing winery, or after scoring that new job?
You’re not the only one thinking there’s never a ‘right’ moment. How often do you go out to celebrate or completely forget about that saved bottle, and crack something else when a special occasion arises?
Your time has come. The last Saturday in February is Open That Bottle Night (OTBN) and wine lovers around the world will be on their hands and knees rummaging through cupboards, pantries and under staircases to find that elusive bottle in preparation to mark the moment.
What started in 2000 by a couple of Wall Street Journal columnists as a way to share wine anecdotes from their readers, was so popular it became an annual event, growing to become a world wide wine movement.
With just over a week to go, choose your best bottle; sort out your OTBN party; book that BYO restaurant or connect with other OTBN goers, and in doing so, contribute to the QLD Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
Forget fasting this Feb – this is compelling as excuses get.
