Fererico Fellini, Roberto Benigni, Sophia Loren … when it comes to Italians and cinema, chances are there’s charisma, sex appeal, and a whole lot of passion going on. And probably food. After all, Sophia Loren was famously quoted saying “Everything you see I owe to spaghetti.” And how.
With this in mind, film and food buffs should flock to Potts Point’s Mezzaluna this July/August to check out a perfect combination of cultural pursuits, with their series of Cinema Peroni events.
Taking place each Tuesday from 26 July, you can enjoy an evening of cracking Italian cuisine and cinema, all washed down with a few crisp Peronis. Featuring hearty fare including ricotta gnocchi with fresh tomato and basil, veal with porcini and saffron panna cotta, it’s worth the $65 price tag for the food alone.
On the cinematic front, Cinema Peroni is proud to present a series of contemporary Italian films including Cosmonauta, Her Whole Life Ahead and Gioni e Nuvole (Days and Clouds), which means you’ll leave with far more than a full belly.
