Keep Calm and Eat Me Oi. The sign above the kitchen says it all at this cute Pho diner in Strathfield. Yes, we said it, This is a Pho diner.
From the teal woven fishing basket lights on the ceiling to the bright yellow shutters on the walls, Me Oi is fresh and fun. There’s a few booths and tiny terrariums. It’s a little bit Merivale and a little bit Shake Shack. If it wasn’t serving all things Pho, you could imagine it pumping out burgers, crinkle fries and malt shakes. But it’s not and that just makes things even better.
Instead you can expect big bowls of Vermicelli noodle salad stacked high with cucumber, mint, bean sprouts and BBQ Pork. Or giant plates of crispy skin chicken with fresh tomato rice on the side. And then there’s the Pho.
Like most of Me Oi’s dishes, the Pho is a family recipe. The owner’s aunties had a hand in the Pho and they’ve helped put the restaurant firmly on the foodie radar for 2015.
Open seven days a week, with inside and outside dining, the Me Oi team is ready for anything. The dishes come out fast, fresh and piping hot. Don’t be surprised if there’s a line out the door – but don’t worry, this Pho is worth the wait. It even comes in small, medium and large bowls, but be warned even the small is a generous serving.
While you do wait, put in an order for Vietnamese lemonade or an avocado shake. Now if you’ve never had an avocado shake, just go ahead and order two. You won’t be disappointed.
