What everyone was talking about: Holly Rose and Nicole Pollard opening the show with polished crisscrossing of the runway. Elegance, femininity, modernity and classicism all rolled into one breath taking collection. The startling and moving tribute as the show’s score – Yves Saint Laurent telling the world of his leave of fashion. And Pierre Berge speaking at his funeral.
The Collection: Think Grace Kelly as Geisha. Channelling the 1950s woman in the present day with draped neoprene fabrics, crocodile textures and silk dresses. Maticevski knows how to dress a woman to radiate happiness, whether for the red carpet or a romantic rendezvous. Pay attention to the detail – intricate crocodile leathers, pearlised silk blends, bonded jerseys, embellishments and bold stripes.
The Look: Fresh and beautiful skin with a touch of pink. For hair, Jayne Wild for GHD created something a bit classic with a play on shapes and fun hair coverings to touch on the Geisha meets Grace Kelly theme.
Addicted to: A gasp-worthy neon coral ball grown a singular white stripe back feature. Draped neoprene.
