Fancy a baaa-BQ skewer? Don’t be sheepish, get on down to the Lunar Markets and celebrate Chinese New Year, the Year of the Ram!
The little lambs are dotted all over Pyrmont Park providing many a Kodak moment amongst over twenty food stalls. Trees are glittering with red and gold envelops swinging in the wind so get amongst it and kick off with a shot of China’s “national spirit”, Moutai and find your own nuggets of foodie luck.
Many of the stands are from up and coming entrepreneur’s, you won’t find many of them on Sydney streets (yet). Dumpling lovers can’t miss Brisbane’s mecca for dumplings, Zagyoza; the pleat master has created an innovative range from teriyaki chicken to the black been gyoza all using premium (rather than ‘mystery’) meat. Dainty Dumpling House serves wicked Peking duck roti’s or opt for Poklol Korean range of KBBQ tacos or their K-version of poutine with Sriracha mayo. Get to Hoy Pinoy early to avoid the queues for their Filipino charcoal chicken and pork skewers.
If you have a Citibank card you can dine in VIP style with helpers to ‘do the queue dash for you’ or relax in comfy seating areas thanks to The Star. So head on down after work for a cold Sapporo and have a Chinese cracker of a time.
