The faculty to part with your most cherished belongings is an enviable one.
This holds particularly true when your belongings are not stray cats or Pez dispensers but vintage silk Halston gowns, one of only twelve Fendi handbags ever made or a red velvet Lucien Lelong coat.
For decades Sydney-based fashion designer Lisa Ho has been assiduously hoarding only the most fabulous of worldly treasures both sartorial and ornamental, and is now relinquishing them at an auction for which you should start exercising your bidding hand immediately.
Jewels in the eclectic crown include YSL, Chloe and Christian Dior garments in silk, lace, velvet, chiffon and satin, many of which inspired the designers earliest collections. Or embellish your home instead with an antique that has for years furnished her own, including a cast iron and marble-topped entrance hall table and an original Andy Warhol screenprint of Coco Chanel.
Not 100% certain about flashing a bid card for $10,000? Never fear, many of the covetable pieces are expected to only just break triple digits.
Living minimally is admirable, but living in vintage Halston is far more fun.
