This week an iconic fine dining institution welcomes an unlikely addition to its premises – 3,000 litres of soil as part of ‘Liminal Space’.
All in the name of Art (naturally), Liminal Space has found a ‘home’ (momentarily), inside Claude’s celebrated two-hat restaurant.
Liminal Space along with all its earthly inclusions encourages diners and amblers alike to step behind Claude’s lone locked door, and uncover the end-result of a collaborative joint venture between Chui Lee Luk (Claude’s Head Chef/ Owner) and Jordana Maisie (Berlin-based Interactive and Sculptural Artist).
A culmination of Maisie’s organic artistry and Lee Luk’s evolved cuisine. Theirs is a vision, performed on a stage of scattered LED light bulbs, connected by an intricate circuit of wires protruding from a carpet of soil that powers the work, and the perfect dance partner? Why, Lee Luk’s al a carte and tasting menu of course.
Prime yourself for the most unusual awakening of the senses, and feel free to leave your intellect at the door. Prepare to be enlightened.
