Ever felt the urge to pop the pod of a homegrown pea? Perhaps you’ve felt recently inclined to dig up a crunchy carrot, born out of love and undivided attention by none other than yours truly?
For all you aspiring gardeners, landowners and ‘veggie doctors’, you’ll be humbled to know that Landshare, (a simple to use matchmaking service) has finally landed on our shores. The friendly website invites members to share land, ideas and get hooked on the ‘grow-your-own movement’.
The Landshare seed was planted in 2009 in the UK and boasts over 58,000 members. Thanks to gardening ‘guru’ and co-founder Phil Dudman – Landshare Australia has finally sprouted.
The basic ethos is thus: You have land, you want land or have an eager appetite for the green stuff – log on and find a nearby accomplice (landowner or grower) and connect today.
With over 500 members, it’s early days for Landshare Australia, but the ‘spirit of sharing’ is set to be the next trending topic.
Jump the fence and start getting those hands dirty.
