Italian Street Kitchen Brings Moreish Italian to Neutral Bay

Fried not baked. It might be the opposite order you’d usually expect to hear but boy does it work at Italian Street Kitchen.

The pizza fritta comes piping hot from the open kitchen at Neutral Bay’s newest dining hot spot, with a well-balanced tomato sauce, a delicate scattering of Parmesan and a surprisingly soft crust following the light frying.

Now if we still can’t convince you to give the fried dough a go, don’t panic. Italian Street Kitchen brings the full gamut of Italian goodies to the busy Grosvenor Street strip.

The team behind Meat & Wine Co and Ribs & Burgers have the formula right –moreish arancini, three meat meatballs, plenty of pasta, pizza, and a red hot spit oven. See all the action in the open kitchen with a seat up the back or spend a warm spring evening sitting al fresco on the street with an Aperol Spritz and a salumi board.

Watch out, the arancini are moreish!

The panini’s are perfect for a quick lunch – meatball sub anyone? – but a rosemary and garlic lamb roasted on the spit will hit the spot too. The lamb is cooked over the open flame, along with a lemon and herb chicken.

From the main dining room you can just see the giant tubs of Nutella out the back – reason enough to stick around for dessert! Pizza dough pockets filled with Nutella and hazelnuts? Yes, like we said, well worth sticking around.

Whether it’s breakfast (hello Italian pastries!), lunch or dinner, Italian Street Kitchen is a laid back spot to eat food your Nona used to cook – or the food you wished you could cook.
