It’s still not too late to get a crew of family and friends together and compete at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2010, Australia’s largest and most awarded keelboat regatta.
Not an avid sailor? No problems, even those with little or no experience can charter, and we have it on good word that Whitsundays’ charter yacht operators Sunsail and Rent A Yacht have yachts available for Race Week (20 – 28 August). You could be joining a 200 strong fleet competing for line honours and speedy prizes counting an Audi A5 2.0 TFSI Sportback.
If your legs are happier on dry land, there’s a surfeit of on shore activities to keep you amused. You can take a tennis clinic with two of Australia’s most successful players and doubles specialist, Todd Woodbridge or Wayne Arthurs, or spend an hour at neighbouring Dent Island working on your short game with Hamilton Island golf pro Cherie Byrnes. Benefit from a mojito and makeup evening with Shelley Barrett, Founder & CEO of ModelCo, as she gives you her tricks of the trade and unveils another world first in self tanning technology.
Kick off those heels or dress shoes at the new Barefoot and Black-Tie Dinner on qualia’s stunning Pebble Beach, join Matt Moran at The Chef’s Table Dinner – a sumptuous degustation menu featuring matching wines from Robert Oatley Vineyards, or watch Camilla Franks parade her latest colourful kaftans at the Moet & Chandon Luncheon.
And if you’re still seeking a higher adrenalin authority, Audi’s motorsport Ambassador, Brad Jones, will put the sailors through their paces piloting an Audi RS6 sedan on a specially-designed course on the airport runway.
