Shopping — the brick-and-mortar kind — is something you’re probably more than willing to partake in without any inducements, but that’s not to say extra incentives are unwelcome.
On Thursday seize the excuse you never really needed to turn a favourite pastime into an after-dark fashion extravaganza, with stores across Westfield Sydney boasting pop-up beauty bars, world-class DJs, complimentary sweet treats, giveaways, goodie bags and good spirits of both the ambient and alcoholic types.
“Fashion meets music” is this year’s theme, with everyone from Metalicus to Mulberry dishing out a piece of the (largely complimentary) pie. If you plan your night correctly you can pose for your close-up at DKNY’s Polaroid booth after getting your face done at the cK beauty bar and before getting giddy on Hendricks high tea tipples at The Victoria Room.
At 5pm be at the Pitt Street entry to Westfield Sydney (next to Zara and Nespresso) as the shopping gun pops marking the official VFNO launch moment. The event will be co-hosted by Editor of Vogue, Edwina McCann, the Mayor Clover Moore and Westfield Managing Director for Australian, New Zealand and USA Robert Jordan.
At T2 there’ll be tea mocktails, at Mimco Sweet treats and vintage sodas, or join your favourite Masterchef contestant at the grand staircase under Myer.
If pop ups are to your liking – Jurlique’s beauty bar and the Galliano lounge for cocktails won’t disappoint.
And if all the free champagne makes you feel like dropping some cash, do it at L’Occitane, Tumi or Thomas Sabo for a gift with purchase to soften the blow.
Your move, Internet.
