The Northern Beaches are notorious for offering a laid back lifestyle – whether it’s the fresh ocean breeze or the endless almond milk lattes, they’re healthier up there, there’s no doubt about it.
COOH Alexandria is bringing that little bit of bliss down to the inner city and it’s about more than just a few bliss balls. The brand new café has taken over the space originally occupied by Vicinity. It might be just around the corner from the Grounds of Alexandria, but COOH is a world away from the crowds. It’s calm, quiet and the perfect spot for a wholesome breakfast – the team is also behind Curl Curl’s COOH Café, a local institution whose juices are just the right way to start the day.
They’ve brought plenty of their signature dishes down to Alexandria, along with a few new menu items. The philosophies are very much the same, with curing and baking done on site.
Gluten and dairy free folk will go ga ga over the vegan bircher museli and the buckwheat berry pancake. Mexican eggs, smashed avocado and a cute (yes cute) bacon and egg roll offer options for just about everyone. Lunch has healthy and hearty options, raw desserts are in the glass counter at the take away corner and the dinner menu is on its way in the next few weeks.
The team have kept the big open space of Vicinity, with outdoor dining terrace and plenty of tables for big groups.
