A little piece of South America lands in Kings Cross

Take every type of meat, fish and crustacean you can imagine, throw it on a smoky open flame grill, add a jug of Sangria and you have the makings for a killer traditional South American feast.

And that’s exactly what you’ll get at Chimmichurri  Kings Cross’ newest bar and grill by Chef Jose Santos (ex-Wildfire).

Like its South American spicy marinade namesake, Chimmichurri is h.o.t!  Tucked away behind the coke sign in a huge warehouse style space, it’s big, bold, and has loads of attitude.

With a menu the size of Brazil, there’s no shortage of choice with nine varieties of steak (including a 1.5kg ‘Flinstone’ angus rib-eye), beef/lamb/pork ribs, 8hr slow cooked lamb, whole and half BBQd chicken, whole baked fish, prawns, calamari, octopus and nine different burgers – and that’s not including the starters or entrees.

And then of course there’s the quintessential all you can eat Churasco – take everything above, shove it on a skewer and have it carved at the table until you can’t eat any more.

Sip on a caipiroska or caipirinha from the roving cocktail trolley or sample their signature Sangria. Lap up the theatre of the massive open kitchen and brace for eyebrow-singeing flames leaping out of the traditional Brazilian grill.

Chimmichurri isn’t for the light-hearted. Go with a big appetite and sense of fun – chances are you’ll leave with an impressive spike in iron levels and a doggy bag in tow.
