If you have a ‘best friend’ that’s a little alternative, a veritable show-off and likes a good festival, take them down to the Surry Hills Festival this Saturday. If ‘little and lithe’ they can take part in the small doggie dash, or perhaps you want to show off some new obedience training? The infamous Surry Hills Dog Show Off is the place to be to make or break canine and owner reputations.
Prefer to hang out with your other best friends? The festival won’t disappoint either if they’re keen on fashion, music or creative arts.
Six entertainment stages will belt out indie rock, DJs, acoustic and world music, and feature popular Big Day Out MC’s, The Lilypad’s Duckpond, Larry, Heavy G and Christo.
The Festival, now in its ninth year, will for the first time show creations by students from The Whitehouse Design, Enmore Design and local emerging designers. A catwalk not quite the Champs-Élysées, but you’ll get a good peek at new fashion talent, alfresco style under an avenue of trees.
With more than 250 market stalls scattered across Prince Alfred Park including local gourmet fare for brunch, lunch or dinner, this festival caters amply for companions of all walks.
