Cheese dreams are some of our favourite dreams, which is why we were so keen when Shifty Chevre opened on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy. A cheese bar and café is a title we wish we could give our homes, which is where the team behind this one Tom Petty, Noemie Lacoste and Alex Whyte, got their inspiration.
A venue that champions the lovely ingredient cheese, while being casual, relaxed, and inviting, just like a home dinner party. The relaxed space is full of natural woods, hanging lights, soft couches, and bookshelves.
They also believe the cheese itself should be approached in a non pretentious way. While you can get a stunningly prepared platter of cheese and condiments to accompany your glass of vino, you can also get your cheese stuffed into a croque monsieur, baked with friends into a quiche, or served on toast with tomato salsa and smoked salmon.
Shifty Chevre stocks around 25 local and international cheeses, constantly rotating what’s on offer making it the perfect place to stock up on dinner party indulgences, or something super fancy to add to your ham and cheese toastie. They also stock crackers, pastes, and other perfect cheese companions.
