When the beauty chain Sephora opened its doors in Sydney last year, you could feel beauty lovers in Melbourne turning green with envy. People were planning trips north for the sole purpose of shopping at the first Australian Sephora store. And any woman who is a fan will know the struggle of trying to get 15kg of beauty products back in the country after any European jaunt. But, the wait is finally over; Sephora is coming further south.
Sephora has announced it will be opening the first Melbourne store in the CBD just in time for Christmas. Hello Christmas madness.
The new store will be located in Shot Tower Square in Melbourne Central and will stock the store’s 30 exclusive beauty brands including Marc Jacobs Beauty, Tarte, Kat Von D, Cover Fx, Nudestix, Beauty Blender, Ole Henriksen, Formula X and its own Sephora Collection. For those who aren’t so familiar, this store is the place to buy anything from skincare to haircare to fragrances to body products. Anything that makes you look and feel beautiful is right there on the shelves.
Dominique Mandonnaud first created the chain of stores in France in 1970. Since then, and now owned by LVMH, the brand has opened around 2,000 stores across the globe, with Melbourne finally joining the family.
