Melt Pizza. In 120 seconds.

Melt diningPizza. You know what they say, bad pizza is still pizza, right? Well, in a town like Melbourne, we’re not really happy with subpar pizza (or coffee, or dumplings, or anything edible or drinkable really). The team at Chapel Street’s new Melt – Owners Dan and Elise Gold – have decided to make good pizza, in 120 seconds, with as many topping combinations as you can think of.

Where gluten-free Italian heaven Pizza Piazza once stood, Melt has taken the Italian style of cooking pizza, and coupled it with a business model that allows for fast, quick, and tasty food.

You walk in, you either choose from one of the classic recipes, or create your own 11 inch pizza adventure from the three different bases and 35 toppings on offer.

For the classic lovers among us go for the Margarita of crushed tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil, and EVOO, or the Italian Sausage topped with free range Italian sausage, friarielli, fresh mozzarella, crushed tomato, and EVOO. If you’re creating your own use anything from; San Daniele Prosciutto, free range chicken, capers, pine nuts, mixed mushrooms, ricotta, gorgonzola, and even vegan cheese. And yes, they still do gluten-free pizzas. The 400 degree stone oven cooks the oil, fat, and sugar free bases in 2 minutes flat.

If pizza isn’t your thing, we probably shouldn’t be friends, but you can order salads, sides, and sweets to avoid the carb filled goodness of the above-mentioned pizzas.

It’s busy, it’s fun, and it’s really tasty. Get creative with your next creation.
