Fancy a spot of polo people? Well Paspaley Polo is coming to town, Albert Park to be precise, so there’s no better time to bring out the sundress and shorts and get your set on.
On 3 December, the park in the city is looking to come alive with sportsmen, horses and of course lots of champagne and glamour.
In what was once only reserved for toffee-nose types, polo is now played by an array of very talented (and easy on the eye) sportsmen (i.e. international import Sam Hopkinson – the riding stunt double for Viggo Mortenson in Lord of the Rings) and growing in the popularity stakes.
Tickets can still be purchased for the Coopers Bar, which more like a relaxed beer garden will host a DJ, an array of fresh food, think boxed salads, mini-rolls, sandwiches and a paella cooked in front of you. And if you start to tire of the horses you can revel in the ‘Fashions on the Field’ competition.
Otherwise, if you want to make a day of it, your way, you can arrange a marquee.
Get your posse, your best flats and plan a Saturday in the park with polo action a-plenty.
