Lost and found

Pop up retail stores have had a good run, it’s only fair that another carries on the ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ banner. Lost and Found has caught onto this trend and have set up their very own pop up hotel room in the top corner of the Little Collins Hotel.

The room is fitted out like a stylish home away from home with local artists interiors like Pierre & Charlotte furniture, Third Drawer Down bed linen, Native Collections desk lamps, Cecilia Fox’s floristry skills, Shelley Panton’s tableware, Waverley Woolen Mills throws and Aesop’s beauty products.

Perhaps the most interesting jigsaw to this innovative puzzle is the fact that this hotel room costs NADA. Nothing. It’s completely free. Why you ask? Well, Lost and Found is also a publication acting as a visitors guide to Melbourne run by Tourism Victoria and this is their donation to the city (and a clever marketing strategy) to encourage subscribers to commit to their free email newsletter (which comes out five times a year).

You can make a reservation for up to three nights on weekends (Friday – Sunday) or up to four nights during the week (Monday – Thursday) but you’ll have to book in quick smart, this pop up hotel room only lasts till the end of August this year.
