If you’ve ever worn your fanciest undergarments to a morning meeting, you’ll know even life’s dullest moments can be enriched by luxury products.
The eclectic selection at Épatant puts this theory into practice in one airy, industrial, absurdly debonair warehouse space. It is, as they tout, a shop “for discerning men of all ages”. And through it, any man can turn cleaning his fingernails into the most splendidly genteel of deeds.
For this you can thank Lachlan Smeeton and Dennis Paphitis of Aesop cred. Over five years they made a list of little luxuries and mens “necessities” spanning categories such as “Cellar”, “Cycling”, “Seduction” and “For Your Brain”. Falling into them are high-calibre goods including high-fidelity Jap-chic stationary by Delfonics, a whimsical collection of Cutler & Gross’ finest frames and underwear of the finest weave by superlative English brand Sunspel.
You’ll have to wait until you get home to pop the cork on that Henry Fessy Beaujolias Villages, but you can shop while sipping on a rather superb coffee from Mini-no-ie, with whom Épatant shares the space.
Money itself can’t buy style, but Smeeton and Paphitis sure can.
