Furniture and pastry. It’s an unlikely combination at first glance but linger on the thought a moment longer and it makes great sense.

This is a day out – complete with cakes, craft, custom-design and community building.



So, you pop into Great Dane’s furniture showroom and marvel at the clean lines of Scandinavian design. Then, when browsing needs a sweeten up, you order yourself an Espresso Syndicate coffee on-site and toss it back with an offering from organic pastry chef Areti Anagnostellis from Kouzina of Patisserie. Environmental responsibility? Check. The coffee, you see, is sourced ethically and if that alone doesn’t perk you up, the black gold from the aromatic beans will.



Oh…then there’s the furniture again. You want a new bookshelf? A couch? A coffee table? Go on. 


Think about it some more during the afternoon’s Paper Cording workshop with Rob Pink. He’s one of the few local lads skilled in the craft and what he knows, he shares. Mottainai Vintage Cycle pop shop has taken a June residence in the showroom’s delivery bay and will be offering a Saturday servicing and repairing of bikes while loaning out the custom-made Great Dane bikes. Gratis.
